Ukraine Railway Modernization / UZ Electrification Project
Public Joint Stock Company “Ukrainian Railways” has received a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB), a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and a grant accorded from the Neighbourhood Investment Platform (NIP), secured by the EIB on behalf of the Contracting Authority. This Platform utilizes non-repayable aid granted by the European Commission in support of investment activities of International Financial Institutions (IFIs) in the EU Neighbouring countries, assisting promoters during different stages of the project cycle.
Phase 1:• Electrification of the railway section Dolynska-Mykolaiv (including construction of a new railway tracks of about 99,2 km with upgrade of tracks in 12 stations);
• Development of the high voltage network (including supplying future catenary system and related high voltage substations) for the sections to be electrified.
Phase 2:Electrification of the railway section Kolosivka-Mykolaiv (Length of single tracks to be electrified: 105.0 km).
