Consultancy Services for Update of Water Balance Computation for The Sultanate of Oman: The project broad objective is to set up and to determine/update the water balance computation using an appropriate methodology, to come out with an updated water balance for the Sultanate, with all its related components in each water assessment unit area (WAUA) and consequently all Water Assessment Areas (WAA). Objectives: Input parameters (annual average rainfall, annual average wadi flow, average groundwater- recharge for each Assessment Areas. Identify the inflow/outflow quantity of surface/groundwater within the catchment boundary & neighboring countries boundary. Identify the groundwater throughflow between different Water Assessment Areas. Output parameters (evaporation and evapotranspiration, storage depletion, saline/sea water intrusion, losses to the sea, total water abstraction/use) for each Assessment Areas. Estimate the artificial recharge to groundwater aquifers from recharge dams, losses from water network. Modeling of groundwater catchments for particular areas (selected areas in Oman)
